OBJECTIVE

Collaborate with ER/Critical Care and other specialities as appropriate including: Surgery, Neurology, and Internal Medicine by assessing, monitoring, evaluating, and providing treatment for Veterinary Specialty cases.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide care on a variety of Veterinary Specialist case s

Present treatment options for Patients

Collaborate with other Veterinarians

Execute superior and timely Client communication

Maintain relationships with RDVMs

Update and maintain medical records

Assist in development of hospital Interns, Externs, and Residents

Provide needed direction to Support Staff

Partner with Nursing Management appropriately

Perform duties as assigned by Lead Specialist, Chief Medical Officer, and or Executive Management

POSITION TYPE

4 day work week!

On Call rotation is required in accordance with hospital guidelines

Mentoring and guiding medical staff is required

Travel is not required

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS

Hold and maintain a license to practice medicine in the state of Texas

Completed an AVMA approved residency program

Board-certified or prepared to become board-certified in area of specialty

Behavior in accordance of CVSEC’s Core Values

Compliance with CVSEC attendance standards

Compliance with CVSEC policies and procedures

Contact with others through face-to-face discussion and telephone conversations

Occasionally interacting and problem solving with unpleasant, angry, or discourteous people

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Client and personal services including Client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Client satisfaction

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Must wear hospital uniform and maintain an appearance which promotes a safe working environment and projects a professional image to our Employees and Clients.

Must be a US Citizen or have authorization to work in the United State as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

This job operates in a hospital setting and as such, the Employee may be exposed to unpleasant odors, animal waste, radiation, contaminants, animal bites or scratches, and contagious diseases or infections. Employee must wear specialized protective safety equipment in accordance with hospital standard operating procedures.
