The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University invites applications for a clinical-track assistant professor position in small animal internal medicine. Applicants must have a DVM degree or equivalent and must be a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in the specialty of internal medicine or ACVIM (internal medicine) board-eligible. Individuals with strong interest in! both canine and feline internal medicine are encouraged to ap! ply. A strong interest in didactic and clinical teaching is highly desirable. The individual hired for this position must be eligible to become licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Texas with a regular or a special license.
The successful candidate will devote approximately 75% (clinical track) of their time to instruction and patient care in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Small animal clinical duties will be shared with other board-certified internists on the Canine Internal Medicine and Feline Internal Medicine Services. The remaining time will be devoted to classroom and laboratory teaching, development of a creative program of scholarship commensurate with time assignments, and academic service. Numerous opportunities for collaborative research exist throughout the College and University. The successful candidate will interact with more than 40 faculty members and approximately 30 interns and residents within the department and teaching hospital.
