Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 08/05/20! 13Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
State funded facility with multiple locations in Texas looking for Internal Medicine or Family Practitioners to provide care for MHMR residents with developmental/intellectual disabilities. This assignment would be ongoing, Monday- Friday and hours are 8a-5p.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.

Located on 75 acres southeast of Abilene, this facility offers care to mentally retarded! citizens of 115 Texas counties. The facility has expanded dra! matically since it first opened its doors, and today boasts a state-of-the-art administrative building, 6 dormitories, and a chapel.
