Min Qualifications
MD degree or equivalent, Board Certified in Cardiology. Must have completed an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship programs.
Salary Range
Commensurate with experience
Specific Job Related Duties
- Assist the Director of Heart Failure, Heart Transplant, and Circulatory Assist Device (“the Directorâ€) to successfully maintain and grow the clinical practice in heart failure, heart transplant, and circulatory assist device.
- Identify and perform heart transplantation on patients with severe heart failure, working closely with the Director, transplant surgeons and hospital administrators.
- See patients in heart failure and heart transplant clinics (a total of at least 3 sessions per w! eek).
- Assist the Director to provide 24/7 heart failu! re/heart transplant/LVAD coverage by developing a schedule of coverage.
- Assist the Director to successfully develop a robust referral network and secure referrals from family medicine physicians, internists, and cardiologists in the greater Houston area and beyond.
- Assist the Director in maintaining and building inpatient heart failure service and consultation service.
- Help the Director systematically reach out to the communities of Galveston, Clear Lake, Texas City, and Friendswood.
